Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) had many very good points. E.g.
- Project Manager role is devided into Product and Program Manager (like Product Owner and Scrum Master!).
- Program Manager is facilitator that plays administratice role, not a dictator in traditional ProjectManager's style. All decisions are made by team collectivelly.
- Leaving documents to avoid analysis paralysis (no need to fully complete document before moving to next phase)
- Versioned releases. This is a rule how to drive incremental development: devide solution into independent pieces. (Isn't it similar to SCRUM's backlog approach?!)
BTW, you can learn what happens with MSF nowadays from "Engineering Windows 7" blog. It looks like next evolution of MSF...
